Speaker Bios:
Steven Freas, MSW is a Unit Manager with Human Services Administration Organization (HSAO), where he oversees several service coordination programs that advocate for children/adolescents/adults and their families in accessing community mental health resources and promoting Social Determinants of Health. Steve has been in a leadership role within HSAO for the last 15 years and played an instrumental role in the development and implementation of the SAP Program at HSAO. Steve continues to provide SAP support to various schools within Allegheny County, completing student screens, attending core team meetings and responding first hand to district’s postvention needs. In addition to his work with the SAP Team along with the other service coordination programs he oversees, Steve has played a key role in the recruitment and retention of HSAO staff and has supplied various on site and off site trainings. Not to mention, he also ensures that all staff have appropriate HSAO swag to represent the organization with pride! Prior to his work at HSAO, Steve was a Child Advocate at the nonprofit- KidsVoice in Allegheny County. Steve holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and Bachelors in Social Work from Slippery Rock University. Outside of the office, Steve is married with two children. He is an active coach for both Boys basketball and baseball at Penn Trafford High School.
Angela Fratangelo started at Human Services Administration Organization (HSAO) as an intern, but has worked her way to be one of the SAP Supervisors at the agency. She graduated from Waynesburg University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Minors in Child Development and Counseling. Angela also dedicates time to help oversee HSAO’s Teen Council which offers opportunities for teens to learn leadership and executive functioning skills, volunteer in the Pittsburgh-area, and help teens create new friendships.
