Mike McGaughey began his career in 1990 working in Maryland within a middle level Disruptive Youth Program in both Talbot County and Prince George’s County. He also worked with various non-traditional college students at Chesapeake College on the Eastern Shore. In 1994, he returned to Pennsylvania and began working at the Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center. At Sarah Reed, Mike was a residential therapist, teacher, school based mental health therapist, and eventually an administrator of various elementary through high school Alternative Education, Partial Hospitalization, and residential Campus School Programs. Mike also worked as a therapeutic support staff, mobile therapist, and behavior specialist at Sarah Reed. He returned to the public school setting at the Titusville Area School District and began teaching and coordinating their middle and high school alternative education programs. Eventually he became an assistant principal at Titusville High School and the coordinator of the district’s Alternative Education Programs. After four years as an assistant principal, Mike became the principal of Titusville Middle School and continued to coordinate the district’s Alternative Education Programs for nine additional years. In 2014, Mike became the Director of Special Education for the district and continued to be involved with alternative education, Gifted Education, and all aspects of Special Education for the Titusville Area School District. In 2020, Mike was promoted to the Assistant Superintendent for the Titusville Area School District. In this new capacity, Mike is the lead administrator of the Rockets Online Campus as well as the traditional duties of being the Assistant Superintendent for the district. In 2021, Mike was elected as the President/CEO of the PASAP Board.
