Dr. SeriaShia Chatters is an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education in the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education at The Pennsylvania State University. She is the Coordinator of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Schools and Communities Emphasis area and the Practicum Coordinator of the Counselor Education Masters program. Her research interests focus on the impact of diversity on interpersonal violence with a specific focus on the prevention of bullying and harassment in secondary, postsecondary, and work settings. Dr. Chatters uses novel methods, such as analysis of brainwave patterns in response to situations involving bullying situations, to investigate correlates of the aforementioned research areas. Dr. Chatters provides training for school personnel to aid them in developing an understanding of bias based bullying, how to respond to it, and how to work toward prevention in school settings.
